Boost launches Java download service
11 June 2003 --
PMN -- Boost Mobile USA, the youth-focused MVNO which operates on Nextel's iDEN network, has launched a download service of games, ringtones and wallpapers. Boost Live includes a range of content from third parties such as Animobile, Zingy and Versaly.
The content is selected via a web portal and then delivered over the air. Items cost from USD 1.49 to USD 6. Boost is also running an introductory promotion, offering two popular ringtones for just USD 0.50 each.
"With the addition of Boost Live, we are offering our customers a
virtual video game arcade," said Seth Cummings, senior manager, Internet
and Wireless, Boost Mobile. "Boost customers simply browse Boost Live's
ever-growing entertainment catalog, purchase the applications they want
and download them over the air directly to their Boost Mobile
pay-as-you-go phones."
